Dr. Thomas Lauwers is a specialist in plastic, reconstructive, aesthetic, and hand surgery. He studied medicine and surgery at KU Leuven, graduating in 1997, and completed his plastic surgery training at CH Luxembourg and Maastricht UMC+, where he continues to serve as a staff surgeon. Since 2009, he has also worked at Sint-Trudo Hospital in Sint-Truiden. Dr. Lauwers has a broad surgical focus, with particular expertise in breast surgery, facial procedures, body contouring, and hand reconstruction. In 2013, he earned the European Certificate of Hand Surgery and currently coordinates the hand surgery department at Maastricht UMC+. Known for his patient-centered and multidisciplinary approach, he combines technical precision with personalized care to restore both form and function.
