Sunekos®

Sunekos (Collagen Stimulator) — Full Guide: Benefits, Risks, Recovery, Prices & Trusted Clinics in Belgium

Quick FAQ↘

What is Sunekos®, exactly?

Sunekos® is often called a "collagen stimulator," but that doesn't fully capture what it does.

Think of it as deep nourishment for your skin — an injectable skin booster that works from within, waking up your skin's own regenerative abilities. It's not a filler. It won't puff you up or change your facial structure. It's not Botox. It won't freeze anything or affect how you smile.

Sunekos® is a patented blend of hyaluronic acid and six specific amino acids, designed to reactivate the biological processes your skin has started to forget. The goal isn't to mask aging — it's to improve the skin itself by encouraging it to produce collagen and elastin again.

The amino acids in Sunekos® aren't random. Scientists identified the exact combination that stimulates fibroblasts — the tiny factories in your skin responsible for producing collagen and elastin. This has been proven in peer-reviewed medical research, not just marketing studies.

What exactly is a skin booster?

You'll hear this term a lot, so let's be clear about what it means.

A skin booster is an injectable treatment designed to improve skin quality from within — hydration, texture, firmness, radiance. Unlike fillers, skin boosters don't add volume or reshape your face. Unlike Botox, they don't affect muscles.

Skin boosters work at the dermal level, delivering active ingredients directly where your skin needs them most.

Sunekos® is a skin booster with a specific purpose: bioregeneration. Its patented formula doesn't just hydrate — it actively stimulates your fibroblasts to produce new collagen and elastin. This makes it different from hydrating-only skin boosters that simply add moisture without triggering regeneration.

When Sunekos® is injected into the dermis, it:

  • Provides immediate hydration through hyaluronic acid
  • Delivers amino acids that serve as building blocks for collagen and elastin
  • Stimulates fibroblast activity
  • Triggers gene expression related to extracellular matrix production

The result is skin that's not just temporarily plumped, but genuinely healthier and more resilient over time.

In Belgium, aesthetic injectable procedures are classified as medical acts. They must be performed exclusively by a legally licensed physician, in accordance with Belgian law.Nurses, beauticians, or other non-physician professionals are not authorized to perform aesthetic injections.

How does Sunekos® work?

What's actually happening to your skin as you age?

Your skin is held together by an internal scaffolding called the extracellular matrix. It's made of:

  • Collagen — gives your skin strength and firmness
  • Elastin — lets your skin stretch and bounce back

After 30, your body produces roughly 1% less collagen every year. Elastin breaks down too. Your fibroblasts get lazy. And slowly, you start noticing things: fine lines that weren't there before, skin that doesn't snap back the way it used to, a dullness that no serum seems to fix, that "tired" look even after eight hours of sleep.

It's not in your head. It's biology.

What Sunekos® does differently

When injected into your dermis, Sunekos® delivers exactly what your fibroblasts need to wake up and get back to work:

  • For collagen: glycine, proline, lysine, leucine
  • For elastin: alanine, valine
  • For hydration: hyaluronic acid

These aren't passive ingredients sitting in your skin. They actively stimulate your fibroblasts and switch on the genes responsible for rebuilding your extracellular matrix. This process is called bioregeneration.

In other words, Sunekos® helps your skin remember how to be young — rather than filling it, freezing it, or faking it.

What can Sunekos® help with?

Sunekos® improves skin quality, not facial shape. It's particularly effective for:

  • Fine lines and early wrinkles
  • Loss of firmness and elasticity
  • Dull, tired skin that's lost its glow
  • Dark circles and hollowing under the eyes
  • Crepey texture on neck and décolletage
  • Hands that are starting to give away your age
  • Stretch marks (with Sunekos® Body)

The under-eye area is where Sunekos® really shines. It's a delicate zone where traditional fillers can look puffy or unnatural — but Sunekos® is gentle enough to treat safely while still making a visible difference.

Sunekos® for Under-Eye Treatment

The under-eye area is one of the first places to show aging — and one of the hardest to treat well.

The skin here is thinner than anywhere else on your face. It has fewer oil glands, less collagen, and sits right over bone and muscle that move constantly. Traditional fillers can look puffy, migrate, or create that overfilled "pillow face" look. Many women avoid treating this area altogether because they're afraid of looking worse.

This is where Sunekos® is different.

Because it's a skin booster — not a volumising filler — Sunekos® works by improving the quality of the skin itself rather than inflating it. The injectable solution delivers hyaluronic acid and amino acids directly into the delicate under-eye skin, stimulating your own collagen and elastin production without adding bulk.

What Sunekos® can improve under the eyes:

  • Dark circles caused by thin, dehydrated skin
  • Fine crepey lines and texture
  • Mild hollowing and loss of volume
  • That shadowy, tired look that won't go away
  • Skin that looks papery or fragile

What to expect:

The under-eye area is more sensitive, so you may feel a bit more during treatment — but numbing cream helps. Some swelling and bruising is common for a few days. Results build gradually over your treatment course, with optimal improvement visible around 4-5 months.

Sunekos® 200 is typically used for this area because of its low molecular weight, which is ideal for thin, delicate skin.

Important: Sunekos® works best for mild to moderate under-eye concerns. If you have significant fat herniation (puffy bags) or deep tear troughs, your practitioner may recommend combining it with other treatments or suggest alternatives.

Is Sunekos® right for you?

You might be a great candidate if:

  • You're noticing early or moderate signs of aging
  • You want to look better, not different
  • Your skin feels dry, dull, or has lost its bounce
  • You like the idea of gradual, natural improvement
  • You've been curious about injectables but fillers feel like too much
  • You want to treat your under-eye area without the risks of traditional fillers
  • You're looking for something that actually improves your skin — not just disguises the problem

Clinical studies have shown effectiveness in women aged 30 to 65, but every face is different. Your practitioner will assess whether it's right for you.

When Sunekos® shouldn't be used

Do not have Sunekos® if you:

  • Are allergic to hyaluronic acid or any amino acids
  • Have a history of severe allergic reactions or anaphylaxis
  • Have active infection or inflammation in the treatment area
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Are prone to keloid or hypertrophic scarring

Talk to your practitioner first if you:

  • Have an autoimmune condition
  • Take blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, anticoagulants)
  • Get cold sores — you may need antiviral medication beforehand
  • Have had recent vaccinations
  • Have permanent fillers or implants in the area
  • Have dental work coming up soon

Be honest about your medical history. This isn't about judgment — it's about keeping you safe.

What happens during treatment?

Before your appointment

  • No alcohol for 24 hours
  • If your doctor allows, avoid blood thinners for a few days beforehand
  • Stop retinol and strong acids 3 days before
  • Come with clean skin, no makeup

The treatment itself

It's quick — usually 15 to 30 minutes depending on the area. Your practitioner may apply numbing cream first.

Using a very fine needle, they'll make multiple small injections into your skin. Most women describe it as tiny pinches — noticeable but completely manageable. Some areas, like under the eyes, are more sensitive than others.

You can go straight back to your day afterward. You might have some redness or small bumps for a few hours, but nothing that stops normal life.

How many sessions?

Sunekos® works as a course, not a one-off treatment.

  • 3 to 4 sessions
  • Spaced 7 to 14 days apart

This is essential. The results build with each session as your skin progressively regenerates. One treatment alone won't give you the full benefit.

After your initial course, 2 to 3 maintenance sessions per year will help sustain your results.

Side effects — what's normal, what's not

Completely normal (resolves within hours to days):

  • Redness at injection points
  • Small bumps or swelling
  • Mild bruising (more likely if you've taken blood thinners)
  • Tenderness
  • Slight itching

Less common but still normal:

  • Temporary numbness
  • Small lumps under the skin that resolve on their own
  • Mild discoloration

Rare — contact your practitioner immediately:

  • Signs of allergic reaction: hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of face or throat
  • Signs of infection: increasing pain, warmth, pus, fever
  • Symptoms that get worse or don't improve after one week

When will you see results?

Sunekos® works with your body's natural rhythm, so don't expect overnight miracles.

Immediately: Your skin feels more hydrated

10–14 days: Skin starts looking brighter, smoother

4–8 weeks: Visible improvement as new collagen and elastin build

4–5 months: Optimal results — this is when bioregeneration really shows

The changes are gradual. You won't suddenly look like someone else. You'll just look like you — rested, healthy, glowing. The version of you that people ask "have you been on holiday?" about.

How long do results last?

Typically up to 6 months after a full treatment course. Your skin will keep aging (nothing stops time), but you'll be aging on a better foundation.

What results can you realistically expect?

Let's be honest: Sunekos® won't make you look 20 again. It won't erase deep wrinkles completely. It won't give you a facelift in a syringe.

What it will do is make your skin healthier, more hydrated, firmer, and more luminous. Fine lines soften. Texture improves. That tired, dull look lifts. Dark circles fade.

You'll look like yourself — just the version that's been sleeping well, drinking enough water, and somehow figured out the secret to good skin.

Aftercare — protecting your results

First 4–6 hours:

  • Don't touch or rub treated areas

  • Sleep with your head slightly elevated if you have swelling
  • Drink plenty of water

  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, very hot showers

FAQ

Is Sunekos® a filler or Botox?

No. Sunekos® is neither a filler nor Botox.
It does not add volume, does not change facial features, and does not act on muscles. It improves skin quality.

What is Sunekos® actually used for?

Sunekos® stimulates the skin from within by restarting the natural production of collagen and elastin, for firmer, brighter, better-hydrated skin.

How is Sunekos® different from other skin boosters?

Its patented formula acts on bioregeneration, not just hydration. It directly stimulates fibroblasts, which are responsible for skin renewal.

Is Sunekos® suitable for the under-eye area?

Yes. It is particularly well suited for this delicate area, where fillers can sometimes look puffy or unnatural.

Can it improve dark circles?

Yes, especially dark circles caused by thin, dehydrated or tired-looking skin. It is not indicated for significant under-eye bags caused by fat herniation.

Is the treatment painful?

Sensations are generally mild and well tolerated. A numbing cream is often used, especially for the under-eye area.

How many sessions are needed?

A full course includes 3 to 4 sessions, spaced 7 to 14 days apart. A single session is not sufficient for optimal results.

When will results be visible?

Improvements are gradual.
The skin looks more hydrated quickly, then brighter and firmer over the following weeks, with optimal results around 4 to 5 months.

Are the results natural-looking?

Yes. Results are subtle and progressive. You won’t look different—just more rested, with healthier-looking skin.

Who should not receive Sunekos®?

It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, in case of allergy to its components, active infection in the treatment area, or a history of severe allergic reactions.
